Teen Reels — Video Feature Privacy Notice (Addendum)

This notice is part of the TeenTap Privacy Policy and explains what data the video features collect, how it is used, and the controls you and your parents have. If this notice conflicts with the main Privacy Policy, this notice controls for video features.

1. What Video Data We Collect

When you upload, watch, or interact with videos, we collect:

1.1. The video file you upload.

1.2. Video details: caption, hashtags, thumbnail, upload date, and approval status.

1.3. Interaction data: likes, comments you post, videos you report, and which videos you watch enough for us to rank the feed.

1.4. Basic technical data: device type and connection quality needed to stream video smoothly. We do not collect precise location for video features and strip embedded GPS (EXIF) data from uploads.

2. How We Use It

2.1. To store, encode, and show your videos on the service.

2.2. To review every video for safety before it can go public (see the Video Terms, Section 4).

2.3. To power the NEWEST and TRENDING feeds, categories, and search.

2.4. To investigate reports and enforce the safety rules.

2.5. We do not use your videos or interaction data to sell advertising profiles. We do not sell your data to anyone.

3. Who Can See Your Videos

3.1. Every upload starts private. Only you can see it until a moderator approves it.

3.2. Approved videos can be seen by logged-in TeenTap users. Your privacy settings control whether your profile is discoverable, but approved public videos appear in feeds.

3.3. Unapproved and private videos are never shown in feeds, search, or to other users.

3.4. Moderators and safety staff can view any video, including private ones, for review and safety purposes only.

4. How Long We Keep It

4.1. Videos: until you delete them, or until we remove them for a rule violation.

4.2. Deleted videos are removed from public view immediately and purged from backups within 30 days.

4.3. Report and safety records: kept for up to 2 years where the law allows, because repeat-offender tracking depends on it.

5. Moderation by People

Some content review is done by automated systems, and some by trained moderators. Both are bound by confidentiality. Moderators do not contact you directly; all communication comes from official TeenTap channels.

6. Your Rights and Parental Rights

Because our users are minors, we honor parent and guardian requests regardless of local law thresholds:

6.1. You can delete any video at any time.

6.2. A parent or guardian can request: a copy of the videos and video data tied to their child's account; deletion of that data; or closure of the account. Email parent-request@teentap.me from the address on file or with verification of guardianship.

6.3. We respond to verified requests within 30 days and confirm in writing.

6.4. Parents can ask what moderation decisions have been made on their child's uploads (for example, why a video was not approved) and we will provide a plain-language explanation.

7. Third Parties We Share With

7.1. Video hosting and streaming providers — the vendors that store and play your videos. They process data only on our instructions under confidentiality obligations.

7.2. Safety authorities — where a disclosure is legally required or a safety concern justifies it.

7.3. No one else. No data brokers, no ad-tracking networks, no social platforms.

8. Changes

If this notice changes, we notify users in the app before the change takes effect, and for material changes we also attempt to notify the parent email on file.
